A little help can make a real difference.
Understanding a letter. Following a page of notes. Enjoying something you want to read. These everyday moments matter. We want to make them feel more within reach.
Why we made it
So much of everyday life arrives as words: a notice on a wall, a worksheet, instructions, a page in a book. Sometimes the print is small. Sometimes the wording is unfamiliar. Sometimes you have read the same paragraph three times and would welcome another way in.
We made Read & Explain because getting to the meaning should feel easier. We wanted a simple way to take something in front of you and turn it into text you can adjust, listen to, explore, and come back to.
Our purpose is to help people feel more independent with everyday information, whether that means understanding one sentence or spending a little longer with a subject they love.
Your way of reading belongs here
There is more than one way to read. You might prefer larger text, more space between lines, or a voice reading alongside you. You might want unfamiliar language explained in simpler words. What helps can change from one day to the next.
We want those choices to feel ordinary and easy to find. You should be able to choose the support that works for you without having to explain why you need it. Read a little, listen for a while, pause, and return when you are ready.
Help that fits into your day
Start with a photo. Read & Explain can extract its words into a saved reading, or create an AI explanation to help you approach the meaning. Apple’s built-in voices can read your saved text aloud while highlighting the spoken words.
Your readings stay in your library on the device, ready to revisit. You can make the text more comfortable or open optional Microsoft Immersive Reader. The aim is to put useful reading choices close at hand, with fewer things to figure out along the way.

Accessibility is part of the design
Readable text, clear controls, listening options, and a comfortable pace belong in the everyday experience. We care about the small details: a button that makes sense, room for larger text, and a clear way to return to what you were reading.
We keep reviewing the app and website, testing the choices we make, and listening when something gets in the way. There is always more to learn. Our accessibility page explains the available tools and their current limitations.
Care for the person behind the photo
Reading can be personal. You choose which photo to process, and the app asks before sharing content with its AI services. Saved readings stay on your device. Our privacy notice explains what is shared and when.
We use AI to offer another way to approach information. It can make mistakes, so the original photo stays alongside your reading for comparison. You remain in control of what you read, how you read it, and what you keep.
Made by Coffee & Fun
Read & Explain is made by Coffee & Fun LLC. Our ambition for this app is simple: help more people get to the information they need, with a little more ease and confidence.
We want it to feel welcoming from the first photo to the reading you come back to next week. Useful, thoughtful, and happy to go at your pace.
If there is something we could make clearer or easier, tell us what would help. Your experience can help us see what to improve next.
